Miriam Romera received her PhD in Chemistry, specializing in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Basque Country, in 2010. Then, she started working in the R&D Laboratory at Biomendi (currently Altan Pharma), a pharmaceutical company where she had the chance to develop new pharmaceutical formulations and analytical methodologies for the quantification of different APIs, excipients and their impurities, developing also ICH stability studies. In 2014, she joined the Metallurgical Research Centre of MINERSA Group as Head of the Analytical Chemistry Department. Minersa is an international group of companies that produce industrial minerals, chemical products, construction products, natural absorbents and bleaching clays. During the nine years she worked at the Metallurgical Research Centre she performed consulting and advisory service support tasks and implemented new analytical control systems in production processes at different companies. She carried out optimizations, validations and transference of analytical methodologies for elemental quantification of geological, process and final product samples as well as wastewater discharge samples. She provided support to the Sales Departments managing customer discrepancies and helping to find solutions to quality issues. She was also responsible for monitoring the quality control analysis of different types of samples such as iron ores, silica ores, fluorite ore, glauberite, halite, sodium sulphate, special clays, among others. During this period, she was in charge of the staff technical training and she ensured the availability of equipment and its safe use, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and inspection of equipment.
In January 2023, he joined CIC energiGUNE as Head of laboratory.
