Natalia Alonso studied Physics at the University of the Basque Country, specialising in Electronics and Automation. In her final year of studies, she took some additional subjects to obtain a degree in Electronic Engineering.
After two years working abroad as an ICEX IT intern, she settled in Barcelona, where she began her career as the person in charge, among other tasks, of an European coordinated project at the Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE/UAB). After a few years working in that R&D centre, she continued to specialise in the management of public funding for R&D projects at the Centre Internacional de Mètodes Numèrics en Enginyeria (CIMNE), where she participated in the creation of its technology transfer centre, CIMNE Tecnología S.A. in 2012. For more than 10 years she was responsible for the search and management of public funding for the spin-offs of this incubator, at European, national and regional level. During the period 2017-2021, she combined such duties with the management of grants in the CIMNE projects department, leading the project portfolio of the Bee Group (Building Energy & Environment Group).
In January 2025, she joined CIC energiGUNE, as R&D Project Coordinator in the Business Development Area.
