ROSS ALEXANDER SLOAN

Presentation

Ross Sloan completed his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 from the University of Glasgow where he graduated as the top student from his year. He completed his master’s project at Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg, Germany, validating the individual components of a system simulation of PEM electrolyser Power-to-Gas system.

After graduating, Ross began an internship at UK-based manufacturing consultancy HSSMI (Glasgow), working as a manufactiuring consultant supporting and generating projects concerned with battery manufacturing. After six months, Ross became an Engineer at HSSMI and after 2 years, progressed to the role of technical lead. Ross worked on a variety of battery focussed projects, from exploring upscale opportunities for pilot cell manufacturing facilities, to developing production lines for large scale Gigafactories and costing the various aspects of these facilities.
