Dr. Anu Jacob obtained her master´s degree in Chemistry from Cochin University of Science and Technology with a thesis from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune in 2017. After finishing her master´s degree, she joined as a research assistant at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in the group of Dr. A. T. Biju. She then obtained the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Research Grants Scholarship for carrying out doctoral studies and moved to the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany for her PhD studies. She obtained her doctoral degree in synthetic organic chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel B. Werz in 2023. Her thesis was titled “Organochalcogens in Reactions with Donor-Acceptor Cyclopropanes: (3+1)- and (3+2)-Cycloaddition Reactions”. Her research focused on expanding the synthetic potential of D-A cyclopropanes as synthons in accessing various relevant chalcogen-containing molecules. During her studies, she has been involved in various projects and all the notable results were published in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
She is currently working in CIC energiGUNE as a researcher in the “Organic Materials” group.
