OIHANE ZUGAZUA GANADO

Presentation

Oihane Zugazua obtained her Chemistry degree in 2015 and her Master in Environmental Contamination and Toxicology in 2016 from the University of Basque Country. During her degree she did a stay of 9 months in the University of Oulu (Finland) within the Erasmus program, where she performed an investigation project called “Temperature-controlled microwave-assisted extraction for the separation and recovery of selected PGEs (platinum group elements) from spent catalytic materials”. During her master thesis, she performed the calibration of different passive samplers for the determination of 20 priority and emerging organic compounds in seawater inside IBeA research group. Afterwards, she joined Tubacex as Quality and Environmental Technician for one year grant, where her work was focused mainly on the preparation of the documentation for the withdrawal of hazardous residues and registration of the environmental indicators. Then, she joined VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) in Mol (Belgium) with a Global Training grant where she performed ceramic and polymeric membrane filtration experiments assisting national and international research projects. Nowadays she is working at CIC energiGUNE as lab technician, assisting different research projects related to energy storage materials.
