As Chair and on behalf of the Local Organising Committee I am delighted to welcome you to the conference of the International Battery Materials Association (IBA), which will take place from March 7th to March 12th 2027 in Vitoria‑Gasteiz, Spain.
IBA27 will bring together key contributors to the global battery community, offering a great opportunity to exchange insights, explore emerging directions and connect with colleagues and friends from around the world. We are preparing an ambitious technical programme with recognised keynote and invited speakers, complemented by an exhibition area that we expect to be another highlight of the meeting. Together, they will offer a unique platform to present new developments and connect with the battery materials community.
CIC energiGUNE is honoured to host this edition of the conference. The city of Vitoria‑Gasteiz, recognised for its excellent quality of life and its commitment to sustainability as a European Green Capital, offers an ideal setting. Its historic centre, green spaces and welcoming character make Vitoria‑Gasteiz a wonderful place to gather. At the same time, the Basque Country offers a rich cultural identity, world‑renowned gastronomy, excellent connections to major European hubs and the region’s distinctive mix of landscape, culture and gastronomy that makes it truly unique.
