Adriana Navarro-Suárez received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia) in 2011, where she participated in a research project studying the superficial structure of the interface between basal plane platinum electrodes and ionic liquids with Dr. Marco Fidel Suárez-Herrera.

She completed her M. Sc. in the field of Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion in 2013 at Université de Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens, France), Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse, France), Aix-Marseille Université (Marseille, France), Warsaw University of Technology (Warsaw, Poland), Universidad de Córdoba (Córdoba, Spain), Xiamen University (Xiamen, China) and Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA) with an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. During that time she visited Dr. Robert Dominko's group at the National Institute of Chemistry (Ljubljana, Slovenia) where she worked in the characterization of electrodes for Li-Ion batteries. During her master thesis she worked on the development of nanoporous carbon electrodes for electrical double-layer capacitors under the supervision of Dr. Javier Carretero-González at CIC Energigune (Álava Technology Park, Spain).

Currently, she is a PhD student at CIC EnergiGUNE and her research is focused on the development and study of materials for supercapacitors applications.
