Dr. H. Ben Youcef obtained his Ph.D (Chemistry) with a specialization on Polymer Electrolyte Membranes in 2009 from Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ), Switzerland after completing his Master degree in Functional Polymers and Macromolecular Chemistry in Paris University XII.

In 2009 he started a Post-Doctoral fellow at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland with Dr. Guenther Scherer for two years focused on "Developing polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cells". During his Postdoctoral tenure he has participated in "S-chain project" and "Green Power project", joint venture between Belenos Clean Power (Swatch Group), EPFL and PSI.

In 2011 he joined Chemspeed Technologies AG as an automation-application chemist. Swiss Company specialized in automation and high-throughput solutions and workflows design for chemical-biochemical industry and applied research.

Dr. Hicham Ben Youcef joined the CIC in September 2014 where he is now working on the development of organic electrode and solid electrolyte materials for batteries.
