Dr. Noel Díez studied Chemical Engineering at University of Oviedo (Spain). In 2013 he obtained his PhD from the National Institute of Coal (INCAR-CSIC, Spain). There he studied the synthesis of carbon fibers and activated carbon fibers from new synthetic pitches with Dr. Marcos Granda and Dr. Patricia Álvarez. During this time he visited Dr. Amod A. Ogale`s group at Clemson University (U.S.). After finishing his PhD, he joined the group of Prof. Grazyna Gyglewicz at Wroclaw University of Technology (Poland), where he was working as research adjunct on graphene- and biomass-based carbon materials for energy storage systems.

Nowadays, Noel is a postdoctoral researcher at CIC Energigune (Spain), where he works on graphene materials for Li-ion batteries and Supercapacitors.
