Dr. Anass Sibari joined CIC energiGUNE as a Resercher at the Atomistic Modelling and Computational Studies group. During his PhD at Mohammed V University of Morocco, Dr. Anass Sibari was an awardee of the prestigious Fulbright scholarship which allowed him to pursue his doctoral research and training in the United States through a joint-supervision with the University of Central Florida. His research interests mainly lie in the field of computational materials science applied for nanotechnologies. Our world is made of materials and our quest is to explore their physical properties and exploit them in different technological applications. For this, he employs first-principles tools based on quantum mechanics to study the potential of nano-scaled materials intended for high added-value industries such as electrochemical energy storage, energy conversion, construction, among others. Besides his research interests, Dr. Anass Sibari’s work has inspired him to launch the very first Moroccan startup operating in nanotechnology where an innovative process is used to convert biomass waste into biodegradable additives that improve the mechanical properties of cements.
