Dr. Heng Zhang received his undergraduate degree in Applied Chemistry at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST, Wuhan, China) in 2011. He obtained his PhD at HUST under supervision of Prof. Zhibin Zhou and Prof. Jin Nie in 2016. The research was focused on synthetic fluorine chemistry (i.e., alkali metal salts and ionic liquids), electrochemistry, and Li-ion battery, mainly the solid polymer and liquid electrolytes with imide anions. In 2016, He started as a postdoctoral researcher at CIC energiGUNE on polymer materials for all-solid-state batteries. Currently, he is acting as the research line manager of polymer electrolyte group and his interests mainly revolve around novel salts and electrolytes, and solid-state batteries. To date, Dr. Zhang has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers (> 1100 citations, h-index: 17) on top-ranking journals related to chemistry, and has applied several patents in Europe and China (one granted Chinese patents, ZL201110131558). Some of his recent works are listed below: Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2018, 57 (46) 15002; J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2018, 140 (31), 9921; Joule 2018, 2 (11), 2208; Chem. Soc. Rev. 2017, 46 (3), 797; Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2017, 56 (48), 15368; Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2016, 55 (7), 2521.
